Dr. Hampton has provided clinical audiology services in Westchester since 1973. He received his doctorate in audiology from Columbia University and has served as audiology consultant to the New York City and New York State Departments of Health and the New York State Department of Education. He has been on the staffs of Westchester Medical Center, Lawrence Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital,

and was associate professor of audiology at Mercy College. He was one of the first audiologists in the country to dispense hearing aids when he opened his private practice in 1976.

Dr. Hampton was vice-president of the New York State Speech, Language and Hearing Association, which presented him with its Distinguished Service Award. He is on the Board of Directors of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, and is a legislative counselor to the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, a national association representing 100,000 speech language pathologists and audiologists. He was chair of the State License Board for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology for 2000-2001.

His articles have been published in the Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, the American Journal of Audiology, Hearing Review, Hearing Journal and Hearing Instruments. He was associate editor of the American Journal of Audiology. Dr. Hampton has written more than 100 consumer education articles about hearing loss and hearing healthcare, and has appeared on CBS This Morning and PBS Television. He has presented workshops on hearing healthcare services at state and national conferences throughout the country.

Dr. Hampton is founder and editor of Hearing HealthCare News, a patient information newsletter distributed throughout the United States and Canada. He is also publisher and editor of Audiology HealthCare News, a newsletter for physicians and other hearing healthcare professionals.

Dr. Hampton's professional memberships include The American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, the New York State Speech, Language and Hearing Association and the Westchester Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
